It's Sunday night at LSSA, and I'm sitting here in the hallway, my back against the door, staring at my ipod like an idiot. Why won't Jem open the door? Is she sleeping? Is she ignoring me? Nah, she's definitely not ignoring me, I mean, why would she? It's been about an hour since I got back from the room of requirement, finishing my homework. I was super tired, I needed sleep. It didn't help when I found that our door was locked and that neither Jemma nor the other two suite mates would stir from slumber I wished I could be in.
"JEMMA!" I called.
No response.
I banged on the door.
"JEMMA! I know you're in there!"
Still no response.
Well, at least from Jemma. Paulina, who roomed in the suite next door came out with both an annoyed and tired expression on her face.
"Amy, why are you shouting?" She asked.
"I forgot my key and Jemma isn't opening the door!"
I was waiting for Paulina to say something sympathetic, but she just stared at me.
"You forgot your key. AGAIN?" Now she was looking at me like I was psychotic!
"it's like, midnight, give me a break!"
"Amy, this is like you're fifth time forgetting your key! No wonder Jemma won't let you in!"
"Well who cares? What am I going to do?"
Paulina sighed. "Nothing. If she doesn't want to let you in, there's really nothing you can do."
Silence.
Paulina giggled. "Wow, you must've really annoyed her."
My ears turned red. "What?! I didn't do anything to her! I've been completely nice!"
Paulina sighed. "Honey, even I can hear you in the shower."
"What?" I thought I was singing quitely. Guess not.
"Well I gotta go to bed so...."
"Wait! what am I-"
"If Jemma ever lets you in, you need to apologize for whatever uit is you need to apologize for. Now good night."
Great. Looks like I was sleeping on the floor otnight.
Very creative Katie. I really enjoy reading what you write. You should really consider writing books when you are older. Ha, it could be your side job when you are a famous violinist.
