During my high school years, I always asked myself if my school took essay seriously or not. Every now and then, the class would be assigned essay of a random topic. Suprisingly, everyone would get at least a ninety or above on every single essay or writing assignment. Throughout my sophmore year it was either just do the essay and you pass or not do the essay and fail. There was only one essay in particular that i thought the school cared about and that was the essay on the TAKS. Most of the normal essays done in school were simple topics and could usually be handled with ease, but the TAKS essay actually made you have to think about what your going to write and how the essay would turn out. Basically what I'm trying to say is shouldnt we be more focused on essays throughtout the year if were going to be tested on in on a MAJOR test?

That's kind of like my school! The TAKS test is so stressed at schools all over Texas, even though its not very hard. But it does make you think, just like you said.
ReplyDeleteI hear you there. Teachers seem to wait til the last minute to go over what we need for the tests that are a big percentage of our grade. I wonder why they do that.
